This ace Flautist with his Bansuri takes you to a world of divinity and you just don’t wish to come back to the real world. His performance reminds you of the mythical Ras Leela of Lord Krishna and his Gopis. It will be then followed by a jam session with ace guitarist Ry Cooder and Lary Coryell.
Ranendranath Majumdar, popularly known as Ronu Majumdar started to play flute under the guidance of his father Dr. Bhanu Majumdar. Later on he received training from Pt. Lakshman Prasad Jaipurwale and Pt. Vijay Raghav Rao as well. He also got a lucky chance to receive training from Pt. Ravi Shankar. This scintillating performer is deeply rooted in the Maihar gharana which has also given shape to musical legends like Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
Pt. Ronu Majumdar is known for his experimentation with his new age music and was also nominated for Grammy awards for his his work with the Banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck in the album “Tabula Rasa”.
