Vallarpadam Container Terminal Traffic Signal an absolute necessity

The absence of traffic signal at the Vallarpadam Container Terminal will subject to major accidents when examined with the current scenario! The traffic signal is essentially needed at the old wide gate of FACT. Vehicles and pedestrians pass this gate with utter fear within them. A terrifying display of traffic block is carried out here when vehicles come from either sides of the Vallarpadam Container terminal road, Pathalam area and Puthalam road which makes transportation difficult.

High speed vehicles often pose an accident threat. The vehicles move at a much greater pace than they move in normal roads and that too especially big container lorries. Lorries that are parked at the roadside start to move without proper or prior notice which poses a serious threat to the pedestrians and also the other incoming vehicles. By the time school starts, the number of vehicles and number of pedestrians passing through this area will be a lot more which will obviously increase the traffic blocks here. Schools like MES Eastern UP school, St. Alberts school, Pathalam government school etc. hundreds of students that pass through the wide gate and this area.

Moreover, with the commencement of the service of KSRTC buses to Aluva through the Vallarpadam road, the rush and traffic in this area will increase again. So it has become an unavoidable necessity that the Vallarpadam road needs a signal to ensure the safety of the passengers and pedestrians and to reduce the traffic block created by the vehicles. What is your view and suggestion about this case??
