Training programme for urban decision makers in Cochin

All India Institute of Local self Government  in partnership with US department of energy and Brookhaven national laboratory is organising a training programme for urban decision makers with the theme Energy efficient and Green cities on September 25^th to 28^th at Taj Malabar  Cochin.

The motivation to conduct such a training programme is the idea that rapidly growing cities can leapfrog to advanced, green, efficient and clean energy production and use technologies resulting in increased energy independence with lower emissions.

The major areas in which the training programme will focus on are:

• Importance of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
• Specifics Renewable Energy
• Specifics of Energy Efficiency
• EERE Concepts, policies, Plans and practices
• Green Buildings
• Geothermal Energy
• Solar Cities programme
• Waste to Energy
• Industrial Energy Efficiency
• Climate Change

Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chair Persons and Elected Representative of Urban Local Bodies, Municipal Commissioners, Chief Executive officers, Municipal Secretaries, Chief Officers and Senior Officials of Urban Local Bodies, Policy Makers, Academicians, Social Activists and NGOs will be attending the training programme .
