Schools in Cochin going green
We have this mindset that school is meant for imbibing knowledge and nothing else. Well, a change has come to the schools in Cochin. They have started new programmes where kids can have fun at school!!
Have you heard the famous I don’t what to term….all study and no play makes Jack a dull boy. More schools have started co-curricular activities and have starting environment awareness in students. One example is the Marthoma Public School situated in Edachira, Kochi has taken up environment awareness on a serious note and initiated the ‘Ecological Worship‘ on June 18th, 2010.
Lands will be allotted to each class to grow plants-fruit bearing or flowering. The class which maintains the best garden will be declared the winner. Moreover house-wise competitions will also be held where environment-based put-ups will be displayed. They will also have a country-marathon in October with the theme, ‘Promoting a green and clean Kochi‘.
