Pullepady rail overbridge will be a reality soon!

Finally, the last phase of Pullepady rail overbridge has begun. The government has given nod to complete the remaining work and so the work will pick up pace in one week’s time. As each day passes, the traffic congestion in the city is becoming worse. If the over-bridge becomes a reality, it would help to resolve some of the traffic snarls I guess. The preliminary work of the overbridge has already started. Construction of the span on the Thammanam side will be taken up first. The span, measuring over 27 metres, is the longer of the two.

Once completed, the rail overbridge would turn out to be a great help for those using Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road, Palarivattom-Thammanam Road, Lisie Hospital-Pullepady Road, and several other arterial roads. People coming from Kakkanad, Aluva, Cherthala, Tripunithura, Vypeen and Fort Kochi will also be benefited. Also a proposal has been submitted to the government for widening of the road to the bridge. Now, once the road widening work is sanctioned, the whole project would be completed within six months. Lets hope there wont be any more delay and the muchawaited Pullepady rail overbridge will become a reality soon!
