trafficrulesNew set of traffic rules in the city! To ease the traffic congestion in Kochi, the city traffic police have set up new traffic regulations mainly at Kacheripady Junction. The traffic department had been considering various measures to ease traffic snarls and bring down accidents. As of now, the new regulations are considered as seven-day experimental rules which are likely to evolve as a permanent set-up. A feedback from the public will be collected thereafter and if the new system is acceptable, the police will take further steps to make them permanent.

Light vehicles coming from Pharmacy Junction would be allowed to take right turn at Kacheripady to pass through Chittoor Road and vehicles coming from North PS Junction would be allowed to cross the junction and reach Chittoor Road. Traffic department has deployed policemen at all junctions to help pedestrians cross the busy roads during peak hours. Now the question is – will this new set of rules be effective or will it add up more to the chaos in the city? Kochiites out there….put in your thoughts on this.

sounds like a fair option but something i hate when this comes about is the attitude of the bus drivers in Cochin.. i ply to the south station everyday via the kacheripady junction at around 7 thers this bus that coming from chittor side that just just has to make the untimely cross creating a havoc amongst bus drivers pedestrians and also car drivers!!
