‘Manjurukum Puzha’ – Musical Journey of a River at JTPAC

Have you ever thought about the journey of a river? From rains, to land, then as a stream to a river and finally merging with the oceans. This eventful journey of the river will be recreated on stage through a fusion dance and music that aptly reflect the charging moods of the rain and the river at JTPAC (JT Performing Arts Center) in Kochi on the 20th November 2010 at 7:00 pm.

It will be fused with different streams of music to echo the rhythm, lyrics and cadences of the rain and river, right from inception to her confluence with the ocean. Scenes from the story of the eternal lovers, Radha and Krishna, will be combined with story of Meera to bring alive the beauty, pain pathos and passion of romance and “Srishti Stidhi Samhara”- will be performed through contemporary dance form.

Stalwarts from the fields of music and dancers will recreate this journey on the stage. Pandit Ramesh Narayan will score the music that will be rendered by, Sujatha, Sreevalsan J. Menon, Manjari.

Madhu Gopinath and Sajeev Vakom, lead dancers of Samudra, will choreograph the production that will be performed by artists from the silver screen like-Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Shamna Kasim, Deepti Vidhupratap, Priyadarshini Govind, Vineethkumar. The famous dancers like B.Krishnan, Aswathy Nair and Hari-Chetana duo will also grace the stage in this dance extravaganza.
