Kerala legal Service Authority (KELSA) opens a Legal Aid Clinic at Ponekkara to create legal awareness about rising fraudulent activities. The legal aid clinics run by KELSA are intended to provide legal relief easily accessible to the backward sections of the society. The clinic is manned by Para legal volunteer selected by KELSA. The legal aid clinic which runs along the line of primary health centre provide basic legal service such as drafting of notices, replies, applications and petitions. The volunteers will also attempt to resolve the disputes from maturing to litigations.
Cases are increasing day by day even after setting up family courts. This legal aid clinic will also look into the matters before the fixture of marriages of youths and family related cases as the number of divorces are increasing in the state.
