Lavanyam 2009 – Onam fete in Kochi

Kochi is right now under the charm of Onam. The city gears up to offer a variety of cultural programmes. Lavanyam 2009, a programme jointly organized by the District Administration and the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) has already begun in the city as part of Onam celebrations. The event started yesterday and will continue till Sunday.

The celebration started off with the ‘Pulikali’ followed by a dance drama ‘Radhayevide’ by Gopika Varma and team. You’ll get to see cultural programmes like Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam, Keralolsavam, Sinkari Melam etc everyday starting from 5 PM at Marine Drive and DH Ground. Another major attraction of Lavanyam is the food festival happening here – Taste of India. The celebrations will conclude with fireworks on Sunday at the Marine Drive. Drop in and enjoy your Onam!
