Land for Kochi Metro handed over to DMRC

Finally!! the project of metro rail in Kochi kick started as the first step of preparatory works of Kochi Metro the land of Manapattiparambu which is for the project purpose was handed over to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) by GCDA on the meeting held on last Friday. 2.8 acres of land will be used for casting the girders and storage of machines by DMRC. The machines for the same is brought to the Manapattiparambu on saturday and today the land owned by KSRTC will also be handed over to the DMRC. This place is sighted for the construction of the fly over over Salim Rajan road.

According to the special officer of the project Tom Jose, the project is expected to be completed by a time span of four and a half years. As the office for the project is soon to be open in the city and the phase one of setting up a public sector company is fast approaching the city’s hopes¬† for their own metro is now in touching distance .
