This time the expectations were high but the returns have been a meagre for the host city of the Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK). The city’s fling with the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL) has ended as the KTK’s caravan failed to generate revenue for itself and the city. Kochi is pretty clear that this golden opportunity has slipped due to the mismanagement by the responsible authorities. According to the sources, there was too much politics involved in the last season and the team was not marketed properly which ultimately led to their downfall.
Now the BCCI has terminated the KTK franchise because of the irremediable breach committed by the Kochi franchise. BCCI has stated that the main reason to terminate the KTK out of IPL was the ownership dispute since its very inception. All hopes of the Kochiites as well as cricket lovers of Kerala have sunk by the decision of BCCI. Though the KTK has brought lot of cheers to numerous youngsters, now the things have changed from bad to worse. Whether we like it or not, it is time to bid ‘bye – bye’ to KTK. KTK we will miss you badly.
