chavara-cochin-kochiLooks like tomorrow is the day of two film festivals in Cochin. Chavara Cultural Centre is holding a  Journalism Film Festival showcasing 4 films about journalism.

The movies being screened for the festival on Saturday morning at 10 am are:

  • Flugten – A Danish journalist is taken hostage in Afghanistan by a terror group that threatens to kill her if Denmark does not withdraw their troops from the country.
  • The Killing Fields – A photographer is trapped in Cambodia during tyrant Pol Pot’s bloody “Year Zero” cleansing campaign, which claimed the lives of two million “undesirable” civilians.
  • Kekexili Mountain Patrol- A moving true story about volunteers protecting antelope against poachers in the severe mountains of Tibet.
  • Crónicas – A suspense thriller about a reporter from Miami who travels to Ecuador in pursuit of a serial killer known as the “Monster of Babahoyo.”

If you think any of these movies are worth a watch, drop by Chavara Cultural Centre tomorrow. If kids movies are your thing, check out the kids film festival at Town Hall tomorrow.
