High tech Fish market inaugurated in Cochin

The Matsyafed has opened a most modern, Fish market at U P Junction, Santhi Nagar Thevara.  The market was inaugurated by Fisheries Minister S Sarma yesterday. Around 3.65 lakshs was spent for this project.

As part of this project 30 hi tech fish markets will be opened all over the state. Ernakulam alone will have 30 such markets. Providing quality fish at the very reasonable price is the aim of such markets.

The Matsyafed is planning to renovate Ernakulam Fish market soon by spending 3 crores. Along with the 10 fish marts proposed, a base station for distribution of fish is also being considered for the district
