Fujairah International Airport (FIA) and Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) on Wednesday signed an expression of interest agreement that will help start a new passenger flight and cargo charter flights. Fujairah International Airport (FIA) will soon sign a contract with a management company for its new fixed based operations (FBO) building, airport officials said.
The agreement was signed at the Middle East Business Aviation show by FIA General Manager Dr Khaled Al Mazroui and CIAL Managing Director Krishnadas in the presence of Yousuf Ali, Chairman, EMKE Group and Director of CIAL. The agreement with Cochin International Airport would help developing new passenger and cargo charter flights between Fujairah and Cochin. The agreement also include training and sourcing manpower from Kerala.
“We have been eyeing the Kerala market for quite some time and this agreement will further give impetus to the trade between Kerala and Fujairah,” Al Mazroui said. The agreement will provide travellers better connectivity and an extended range of services between Kerala and Fujairah in general and UAE in particular, he added.
