Flash Mob at Oberon Mall for Climate Change
GreenDream, along with the regional, national and international organizations –AIESEC, IEEE, IYCN, MAD, KOCHI VIBE,YI and various other colleges around Kerala is organizing a Flash Mob event in Oberon Mall, on August 29th,Saturday at 3.50 pm sharp. The event will take place for 10 minutes where in hundreds of youth from across the state will converge at the said location to celebrate the youth climate action and raise the importance of the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark
August 29th marks the 100th day before the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, In strategic locations, global citizens will take to the streets in synchronized flash mobs, orchestrating energetic and creative public cries for governmental and media attention to the climate conference. Action must be taken now to prevent disaster, to welcome in a new, low-carbon future. On August 29 citizens worldwide will come together to remind our leaders that the time for climate action is now, the clock is “tcktcktck”ing.
Events on August 29th will kick off a series of world-wide events which will try to bring global attention to Climate Change and the upcoming Copenhagen negotiations. These events include a week of action starting September 21st, October 16-18 (www.standagainstpoverty.org), October 24 (www.350.org) and December 12 (www.globalclimatecampaign.org).
