Eroor-Chambakkara boat race

It was yet another year for the Eroor-Chambakkara boat race and the banks of the backwaters was crowded with the locals. Eroor Chambakkara boat race, an action-packed event was held on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by Minister for Forest Benoy Viswom. Eroor Perikkad Boat Club organized the water sports at the Chambakkara backwaters.
Three chundans (snake boats) and nine odi vallams (small boats) participated in the race. The cheering squads gathered around the finishing point at Chambakkara were in full gusto for their favourites. Traditional art forms of Kerala like Theyyam, Kathakali, Kavadiyattam, Thiruvathirakali, Pulikali and Shinkarimelam added color to the procession that took place in connection with the boat race.
