Credit couselling centres to come up shortly in Kochi
Abhay, the credit counseling centres of Bank of India will be coming up in Kochi shortly. Abhay was India’s first credit counseling centre and was set up by a trust created by public sector Bank of India. The first centre was set up in Mumbai and was inaugurated by Dr. Y.V.Reddy, Governor, Reserve Bank of India. The centre in Kochi will materialize shortly after the centre in Bangalore is set up.
The main function of these centres is to provide counseling for those who have borrowed beyond their means of income. The centres create awareness among people about financial management, counsel those who are struggling with current financial problems, advising on gaining access to structured financial system including banking, helping in rehabilitation of borrowers and spread financial literacy amongst farmers/weaker sections of society, prone to problems managing credit. It will also help to infuse confidence in others who are in distress. This would be a great help for those who are facing difficulties in financial management.
