Cochin – Hygiene with Public Toilets

public-toilet-cochin3 public toilets will soon be seen across the Kochi city for your relief…well literally! GCDA and Sulabh International, a NGO are working together in a new project which will see clean and well maintained public toilets across 3 points in the city and the work is set to start in two weeks.

The toilets will come up near the Passport Office at Panampilly Nagar, at the eastern entrance of Ernakulam Junction Railway Station and on Marine Drive.This project is in association with Sulabh, who are world class sanitation system consultants and were recently praised by United Nations as a “Urban best Practice” and this was one of the proposals in the 2009-2010 budget.

So, next time you get that urge to take a leak, you know where to go :) Lets hope we have more of these across the city soon. Good job Greater Cochin Development Corporation, now, will you fix those 3 bridges too? :)
