In the press release which held right after the high level meeting he head with Ministers and MLA s from Ernakulam District along with the Delhi Metro Project’s Cheif E.Sreedharan, The Cheif minister Oommen Chandy said that the government is working on a way to make the metro project take off with an equity participation by both central and state governments. He also added that the models of Chennai and Banglore metros are more suited for the Kochi Metro project.
This mega project which has an estimated expense around 30.48 billion rupees is the much awaited and long delayed solution for the long pending traffic woes of the Kochi city. With Oommen Chandi’s inclusion of this project in his 100 days action plan, the Kochi’s metros hopes are beginning to fly high again.
