Bharat Gopy Retrospective Film Fest inaugurated

The Bharat Gopy Retrospective Film Festival- Mayfest was inaugurated on May 17th at Ernakulam Town Hall. Eminent personalities from the Malayalam Film industry like Actor Indrajith, Director Lal Jose, etc was present for the inaugurals.

Prominent Film makers Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K.G George, Kavalam Narayana Panicker, Tamil Film Director Sasikumar(Subrahmanipuram), Dr C.S Venkateswaran, K.R Mohanan, Reghunath Paleri, Prakash Varma, Renjith, Sunny Joseph, Priyanandan, P Balachandran and actors Om Puri, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu, Sreenivasan, KPAC Lalitha, Jagathy Sreekumar, Saikumar etc are expected to participate.

This festival is not only narrowed to only seeing movies, but also a stage for concerts, debates and seminars held. The organizers for the event are Traya, c-hed, Corporation of Cochin, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The main aim to promote this venture was to let the present generation know about the calibre and in-born talent of the great personality-Bharat Gopy….and also to get inspired from his works.

The schedule of the screenings are below:

• 20th May,2010 – Kallan Pavithran(1981), Director : Padmarajan
• 21st May, 2010 – Panchavadippalam (1984), Director :K.G George

   This festival has got a posh image so I don’t want to participate. (The organizers are trying to sell a great actor!)
