Android – Boot Camp Training at Kochi

The Google owned android OS has become a hearthrob in the market, giving a tough competition to its peers like iOS  and Windows OS for mobiles, resulting in 25% of smart phones in the world being run on Android.

This Android boot camp brings about hands-on-training for designing and building mobile application using Android open source platform. Android boot camp explains the philosophy of developing for Android through the main application development building blocks and the interaction with one another. The workshop is organized jointly by IEEE Computer Society of India and led by Mr.Vijyakumar Nair K who has 22 years of experience in the IT industry.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Understand how Android™ applications work, their life cycle,

manifest, Intents, and using external resources

• Design and develop useful Android™ applications with compelling

user interfaces by using, extending, and creating your own layouts
and Views and using Menus.

•  Take advantage of Android’s Application Framework API to build

complex applications.

Utilize the power of background services, threads, and notifications.

• Use Android’s communication APIs for SMS, telephony, network

management, and internet resources (HTTP).

• Secure, tune, package, and deploy Android™ applications

Eligibility:

This course is designed for software developers interested in designing, creating, deploying, and testing applications for the Android™ mobile phone platform. It is valuable to both novices and gurus, who already have experience in developing mobile applications for other platforms.

Prerequisites:

Java experience is preferred to get the most benefit from this training.

All the participants are supposed to bring out their laptops.

The training camp is going to happen on 4 th and 5 th of May, 2012 from 9.30 -5.00 at Hotel Grand Seasons, at Ernakulam.
