Charitable Society for the welfare of women – ‘Karunya Women’s Charitable Society’ ! A Kochi-based NGO, Peekay Tree Crops Development Foundation (PTCDF) has promoted this society. Only few days back, the society was registered. The organization aims to deliver financial support and vocational training to unemployed and needy women of socially and economically deprived sections of the society, to encourage and facilitate self-employment to resource women possessing entrepreneurial skill by offering them techno-economic support., to establish old age homes for women, to provide home away from home facilities for the kids of employed women and to identify and honour at least one woman social worker every year.

Just because these women are needy and poor, it doesn’t mean that they should be neglected. All they need is our support and encouragement to help them to step out and prove themselves. It is good to see such institutions coming up. In the same way, we need to support many underprivileged children out there and encourage them to live in modern India.
